Here at Regent Antiques we firmly believe that there is nothing more important than lighting when designing a modern or indeed a period style interior. We stock many different types and styles of lighting and we are confident that we will have something to meet your lighting requirements for both indoor and outdoor use.

Whilst some lighting is simply functional, there is also a lot of it which is there to provide atmosphere and ambience and to emphasise other design elements of an interior, such as wall surfaces and textures, or indeed an exterior in some cases. Please also see our range of lighting that may be used outside, including some very fine bronze statues converted for use as lamps and other bronze lighting pieces.

Our range of antique lamps and antique lighting pieces is carefully chosen to include examples for all of your lighting requirements and the contemporary and vintage pieces are representative of the styles in which they have been made.

When planning a new interior, or enhancing an existing one, have a look at our range of lighting and check back regularly because we are introducing new items all the time to replace those which are sold. If you see an item of antique lighting that you like, don’t delay, as these sell quickly and are often difficult to replace.

We stock a wide range of lighting, including candlesticks and candelabra, as well as many other types of lamp and lighting accessories.

Another very popular and much sought after type of lighting is the chandelier and you will usually find a variety of these in our London showroom, in a range of popular antique and vintage styles including Antique French Louis XIV Style, French Regency style, Venetian style and Art Nouveau - well worth the trip if you can possibly make it. Antique chandeliers vary in terms of size and style and we always aim to have examples in stock to meet all needs and budgets.

Another popular category of lighting item is the table lamp and, once again, our showroom is a treasure trove for anyone who is considering acquiring a vintage or antique table lamp.

If you see an antique table lamp or chandelier on this website, or indeed any item of lighting that you would like to consider buying but you cannot collect it in person, please rest assured that our specialist team will pack your item very carefully and then ship it to any destination worldwide.

We would however ask you to obtain a shipping quotation before making a purchase, quoting the unique reference number on the item’s description page. If you are located in the UK mainland you will be pleased to hear that we are able to ship your purchases to you completely free of charge.

Our large North London showroom is open to the public for viewing every weekday between 10am and 5pm. If weekdays are a problem for you then please also be aware that we open occasionally on Saturdays. You don’t need an appointment to come and view our range of antique lighting or other items of antique furniture and collectables but if you need to speak to one of our in house experts then it is worth calling in advance to make sure that there is someone on hand to answer your questions and help you when you make your visit.

Our north London showrooms are very easy to find and are conveniently located close to rail and public transport links, including Manor House tube station which is on the Piccadilly Line. You will often find many examples of beautiful antique lighting and other antique items on display but if you are travelling to see a particular item please call first to make sure that it is still available to view as we would not want you to have a wasted trip.

This is a stunning large antique French  Sevres Cobalt Blue hand-painted porcelain and ormolu mounted vase circa 1880 in date, later converted into a lamp. The vase shaped porcelain body is painted with gilt-framed panels  depicting a classical romantic landscape scene on one side, with a floral panel on the other, on a cobalt blue ground with a tall flared neck. The lamp is raised on a shaped square laurel leaf cast ormolu base. Add an elegant touch to any room in your home. It is relief cast with grapevines, cherubs and acanthus leaves, the serpentine handle rising to a seated winged amorini and descending to a mask at the figural relief cast body with waisted stem and terminating in a circular base. This pair of lanterns is modelled after the celebrated Versailles model. This high quality hot cast solid bronze pair of lanterns lantern was produced using the traditional "lost wax" process, otherwise known as the "cire perdue" method. Emanating from a central column, the upper part is dressed with three female caryatids interspersed with foliage and issuing decorative six scroll arms with urn shaped sconces, above a further six slightly wider and also highly decorative scroll arms also with urn shaped sconces, and it is completed with a stunning round finely chased base with a striking foliate cast pendant. An exceptional and impressive huge gilt bronze six light hall lantern, dating from the last quarter of the 20th Century. This superb decorative lantern is finely cast and chiseled in solid bronze, of tapered form, the shaped  brackets supporting satyr masks to each vertex with folate decoration between, the underside with further conforming ornament and finial and the bow glass panels beautifully engraved with sunburst patterns. It takes six light bulbs, three in the upper part and three in the lower part. This high quality hot cast solid bronze lantern was produced using the traditional "lost wax" process, otherwise known as the "cire perdue" method. This is a superb large white marble and ormolu Louis Revival table lamp, dating from the last quarter of the 20th century. The central column of this lamp stands on four ormolu dolphins which are raised on a marble socle that rests on an ormolu base. The craftsmanship in this vintage ormolu and marble table lamp in the Louis Revival style is second to none throughout all aspects of this ormolu and marble table lamp and it is sure to add an unparalleled touch of elegance to your home. Condition This vintage table lamp is in excellent condition having been thoroughly cleaned and rewired in our workshops. Please check the photographs for confirmation of this. More About Ormolu Ormolu is another term for gilded brass produced using a process that used mercury nitrate and mercury amalgam to coat a bronze or other metal surface with finely powdered gold. Once the object had been coated with the amalgam it was fired in a kiln at very high temperatures and the mercury would burn off leaving a gold coloured gilt veneer. No true ormolu has been produced since the 1830s when the use of mercury was banned in France due to its toxicity. More modern methods include using electroplating to gild bronze.
