Console tables are typically placed against a wall, often in situations where space is at a premium. This is due to their space saving design which is typically not so deep as a conventional side table, sideboard or occasional table but which can often be quite wide.

Console tables often incorporate one or more drawers for storage purposes and there is a variation of the genre which is known as a “console chest,” which offers even more storage capacity by way of having several drawers.

Different Styles of Antique Console Tables on Display at Regent Antiques

Here at Regent Antiques we are pleased to be able to offer a wide choice of carefully selected console tables and console chests ranging from highly ornate Regency style pieces through to tables made in the Chippendale style and, moving into the 20th century with some fine minimalist Art-Deco pieces as well.

So whether you are looking for an antique console table with lots of storage space, something sleek but very attractive to stand against a wall in your dining room and provide a useful and convenient space for serving food to your guests from, or something not too large to place in the limited space of a hallway, then you need to look no further than Regent Antiques and our extensive range of antique console tables.

Our console tables range from the functional through to the highly ornate. They are often no more than display pieces, an attractive surface on which to place a vase of flowers or other decorative items. Other console tables on the market serve a double purpose, such as a sideboard or even the occasional card table or games table.

It is also worth noting that console tables are often made and sold in pairs. We usually have a good mix of single tables and pairs of tables so you should have plenty of choice whatever your preference is.

Many Console Tables from Different Periods to Choose From

Although we specialise in antique console tables dating from different periods in furniture making history, including Victorian, Edwardian, Regency and many others, we also occasionally acquire and offer for sale exceptional examples of more recent and vintage pieces that are of particular interest, including Art Deco console tables which, like most Art Deco furniture, are highly sought after and always in demand.

If you have a particular requirement then please contact us by telephone or email and let us know - we also have a free notification service which will alert you when new pieces come into stock - please see the link below to register for this service.

Restoration, Repairs, French Polishing and Condition

We usually only offer items of antique furniture for sale if they are in excellent condition. Sometimes, especially with older pieces, the normal wear and tear of daily use leaves its mark and some restoration work is necessary. For this reason we have our own team of craftsmen who carry out sympathetic repair and restoration work in our own workshop.

Although we can, and do, carry our serious repairs if necessary, more often than not it is a case of French polishing in order to restore the lovely appearance of the fine timbers used in the console tables and other items of antique furniture that we offer.

Please be sure to take full advantage of the galleries of photographic images that we provide with each item description to help you to see just how beautiful some of these pieces are.

Console tables are designed to be space savers but you should still take the time to measure the space you have in mind for your new table and compare it to the dimensions that are provided for each piece - this ensures that there will be no unpleasant surprises when the item is delivered!
