A stunning pair of monumental Meiji period Japanese blue and white porcelain temple vases in the Kangxi Taste, mid 20th century in date.

The Foo Dog lidded vases are of ovoid form and feature wide flaring and ribonned rims. 

The body is beautifully hand-painted with an integrate design in lovely shades of underglaze cobalt blue with swiming carp, waves and lotus leaves.
