A fine vintage ormolu mounted terrestrial library globe, dating from the second half of the 20th Century.
The globe is raised on a highly decorative walnut tripod stand which is fitted with decorative ormolu mounts.The globe has a brass meridian circle and the cartographer was "The Royal Geographical Society." It was founded in 1830 under the name Geographical Society of London as an institution to promote the 'advancement of geographical science'.
