An elegant Campaign brass bound mahogany writing slope, circa 1840 in date.
The beautifully polished flame mahogany case has a wonderful age-related patina and a key lockable top. the hinged top with inset brass plaque inscribed 'Reverend R.Potenger'
Inside, there is a lift-up gold tooled black leather writing surface that features a secret compartment with drawers which open by pulling up the side of of the ink well comparments.
There is a seperate, large document drawer to the base which is opened via a secure devise within the locked case. The side carrying handles fold flat within the sides of the box in true campaign style.
Complete with working lopck and key.
There is no mistaking its unique quality and design, which is sure to make it a treasured piece by any discerning collector.
