This magnificent flame Georgian Revival mahogany lion's head partners desk dates from the second half of the 20th Century and demonstrates the highest standards of the cabinet maker’s craft.
The desk is finished all round so it is free standing, the shaped top is lined with a classical gold tooled leather inset writing surface and it has wonderful serpentine shaped sides.
It has been accomplished in the Georgian manner and is beautifully crafted from flame mahogany with satinwood crossbanding. The drawers are oak-lined and the exquisite brass handles serve to compliment this elegant look.
The eight corners of the desk feature beautifully carved corbeils and lion's heads, the borders have rope edge carving, it stands on elegant lion's paw feet. and all this carving in solid mahogany is the work of a master carver.
It is identical on both sides, with an equal number of drawers and therefore can be used by more than one person - hence it is a "Partner’s Desk".
On each side of the desk there are five drawers, and two double depth drawers which are useful as filing cabinets.
This stunning partner's desk will create a sense of style in your home and is sure to become the centrepiece of your furniture collection.
