A beautiful pair of antique English bronze ormolu and bronze wall sconces by the renowned sculptor Edward William Wyon (1811-85), signed and dated 1848.
They both have circular relief moulded plaques depicting joyful cherubs at play, surrounded by leaf cast ormolu frames and branch work sconces.
These charming wall sconces are truly exceptional and a must have for any serious collector of classical bronzes.
This high quality hot cast solid bronze was produced using the traditional "lost wax" process, otherwise known as the "cire perdue" method.
