We supply oak dining tables, mahogany dining tables and others made with exotic and very desirable timbers such as burr walnut and birdseye maple. Many of these fine antique dining tables have stunning marquetry and other inlaid decorations to make the table not only functional but also a thing of great beauty to be admired by those who are lucky enough to see them. We tend to only offer antique dining tables from well known makers or those which are clearly the work of master craftsmen with the right skill levels required to be working with such expensive timbers.

When you have found the perfect antique dining table, we come to the question of chairs. When it comes to sitting comfortably then we are able to help with that as well. It is quite unusual these days to find antique tables offered together with their original matching chairs. These do occur from time to time and we often have original matching antique dining table and chairs sets in our inventory but in most other cases we can supply matching, or complementary dining chairs either as a set with the table or separately.

Today we would like to take you through some great examples of antique dining table and chairs sets from our vast selection.

To start off, we are pleased to present to you this fabulous dining set comprising an antique Regency period dining table and a set of twelve dining chairs, all dating from circa 1820.

This extremely rare Regency period Wilkinson patent concertina action extending dining table in flame mahogany has three original extension leaves and eight twist reeded legs all fitted with brass castors. This type of extending dining table was patented by the renowned London cabinet making firm of Wilkinson.

It has a unique scissor action with brass fittings allowing the table to open with a concertina action. The leaves are held in place with brass clips and the table can be used with any combination of leaves in place, making this a very versatile table. These antique tables are very well constructed and are solid and firm when fully extended.

This is an outstanding table of unique design to literally fold away but opens to seat up to twelve people comfortably. It was made by a master craftsman and should last for generations more.

The delightful set of ten Scottish Regency period mahogany dining chairs compliment the table perfectly.

The set comprises eight side chairs and two armchairs, each with a curved, dished and scrolled top rail with a central raised octagonal tablet flanked by incised stylised foliage, above a ring turned splat, on channelled square section downswept legs. The drop-in seats are upholstered in a sumptuous fabric and they are raised on elegant sabre front legs.

These chairs have been masterfully crafted in beautiful solid mahogany throughout and the finish and attention to detail on display are truly breathtaking.

Transform the fine dining experience in your home with this magnificent dining set fit for a king.

Another remarkable example is this fantastic antique Art Deco burr walnut extending dining table and twelve matching chairs following a design by Ray Hille, dating from circa 1920.

The stunning rectangular top with canted corners has been hand-crafted from burr walnut, which has a beautiful figured grain, and it has been French polished. It has two large leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion and stored away when not required.

The table is raised on a masterfully hand carved central shaped quadriform base with outset block feet.

The twelve armchairs have an equally gorgeous design and are also slightly unusual, with curved shell backs. They are also beautifully finished in burr walnut and have green leather upholstery.

It is very rare to find a large Art Deco dining table with the original set of twelve armchairs, as tables in the Deco period were normally made to seat six or rarely eight.

Whatever the function of this gorgeous set, it will make a profound impression on your guests and will receive the maximum amount of attention wherever it is placed.

To finish off in style, we have a superb antique English oak Jacobean Revival draw leaf refectory dining table and set of six oak chairs, all dating from circa 1920.

The refectory table with drawer leaf top and boldly gadrooned frieze is raised on a massive cup and cover legs carved with leaves and terminating in blocks joined by stretchers.

The original set of matching chairs, including a pair of carvers, have decorative scroll arms, cup and cover supports and are upholstered in oxblood leather.

This is a very impressive antique dining table and chairs set which will add splendour to any room and become a treasured addition to your furniture collection.
