This is a fantastic bespoke handmade Victorian Revival burr walnut dining table
The table top has exquisite ebony and satin wood banding to highlight the burr walnut. It has five leaves of 80 cm each which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion by a special double winding mechanism. When all the leaves are removed and the table is completely wound in, it measures 280x180cm (approx 9ft by 6ft). The table is raised on six elegantly carved legs for stability and they terminate in brass cup castors.
The table is made from burr walnut which has a really beautiful grain and to highlight the grain it has been French polished by hand. French polish is an alcohol and shellac polish for wood, it takes a lot of patience and hard work, but it is one of the most beautiful finishes available, producing an exceptionally high gloss.
We can make this table to your specifications in size and design.
