The styles that developed throughout the early 19th Century were an extension of the current political situations but also in accordance with the needs of the rising middle class during the industrial revolution. This impressive dining table is exemplary of the early Victorian era with its Pollard oak and bold moulded and ebonised edge.
The table is raised on four tulip-carved turned and fluted tapering legs ending in brass and brown porcelain caps and castors.
Beautifully hand crafted from solid mahogany the set comprises eight side chairs and two armchairs, all of which feature an attractive shieldback design and backs and seats that are upholstered in the finest light grey fabric. They stand on square tapering front legs that terminate in spade feet.
There is no mistaking the fine craftsmanship of this handsome set, which is certain to become a treasured addition to your furniture collection, and a talking point with guests at meal times.
In excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished waxed and the chairs reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
