This is a wonderful antique French Gothic revival writing slope in gilt bronze with wonderful cut brass decoration and agate mounts, dating from Circa 1870.
The neo-gothic mounts incised with scrolling foliage, and the sides fitted with decorative bracket-shaped carrying handles.
The slope opening to form a writing surface fitted with a blue leather writing surface.
The barrel-topped pen box opening to a fitted interior with a pair of inkwells, gilt brass paper knife and ormolu handled pencil and pen with two blue silk covered compartments with stationary slots.
Complete with the original working Bramah lock and key.
There is no mistaking its unique quality and design, which is sure to make it a treasured piece by any discerning collector.
