This is a rare large antique Victorian metamorphic flame mahogany circular extending dining table with two sets of leaves in the manner of Johnstone, Jupe and Jeanes, and dating from Circa 1870.
The circular top is quartered and extends by a windout mechanism to accommodate four large rectangular leaves or four segmented leaves.
This means that the table can either be extended to form a circular dining table, approx 6ft in diameter, or amazingly it can also extend to become a rectangular dining table approx 12 ft in length.
The table is raised on five square tapering legs terminating in spade feet with the original recessed castors.
The table can seat four when the table is circular without leaves, six to eight when extended in circular form and twelve comfortably when extended in rectangular form.
In excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished and waxed in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
