This is a wonderful antique Victorian silver-plated twin handled tray, the underside bears the makers mark JR&S for James Round & Son, the renowned Sheffield silversmith, and dating from Circa1860.
This splendid large tray features beautifully pieced borders with emossed floral and foliate decoration and inset handles.
The centre has an engraved crest with a Lion Rampant and the inscription,
Tenebras Expellit Et Hoste
Which translates as "He drives forth the darkness and the foe"
It is splendid and luxurious and will look fabulous on your sideboard with decanters and glasses.
The quality and craftsmanship throughout the piece are truly second to none.
Condition:
In excellent condition with clear makers marks and no dings, dents or signs of repair. Please see photos for confirmation.
