This is a beautiful antique Edwardian Sheraton Revival top quality flame mahogany and marquetry inlaid four door breakfront bookcase, masterfully crafted in rich solid mahogany by the world renowned London cabinet makers, Edwards & Roberts, Circa 1890 in date.
Inlaid throughout with boxwood, ebony and satinwood stringing, the flared cornice with a continuous Greek key border above a frieze inlaid with roundels and urn filled panels,
This magnificent bookcase features four astragal glazed doors in the upper section enclosing shelves which can all be adjusted according to the height of your books. The lower section has four doors, the centre doors finely inlaid with musical trophies within ornate foliate frames, the flanking panels with floral centres, all of which open to reveal spacious cupboards with shelves. The shelves are all original and the bookcase back is also made from solid mahogany. The shelves in the central section are of solid mahognay, the shelves in the outer sections are also solid mahogany but they are superbly lined in the original gold velvet.
Raised on a skirted plinth and shaped bracket feet there is no mistaking its superb quality and very grand design,which is certain to make it a talking point in your home and stand proud in whichever room you choose to display it.
