This is an attractive antique Victorian silver-plated sculpture of an American bald eagle, circa 1880 in date.
 
The exquisite cast body features the beautiful bird standing on a rocky outcrop with its wings spread ready to launch into flight.
 
It is raised on an elegant square black marble base.
