The 19th century French Parisian Napoleon III period, Louis Revival, mahogany and ormolu mounted commode is fitted with it's original “Breccia Pernice Marble” pinkish dished marble top.
The commode is of masculine and Neoclassical elegance with excellent horizontal and shallow proportions while retaining a warm-brown mahogany patina.
It has a pair of half width frieze drawers over two large and capacious full width drawers, all with the most wonderful ormolu handles escutcheons and mounts, and surmounted by an elegant marble top.
It is raised on rounded toupie feet and is complete with working locks and key.
This delicious piece of craftsmanship could serve any purpose, from the focal point of an antiques collection to a remarkable addition to any room in your home.
