Despite having an enviable reputation as suppliers of very fine antique furniture, especially antique dining tables, here at Regent Antiques we do love a nice picture so we ask our buyers to always be on the look out for something nice to look at – such as antique paintings.

So, I thought I’d take a look around our north London showroom and see  what we currently have available and there are a number of new arrivals for you to see, including this pair of antique coloured lithographic prints entitled ‘Snookered’ and ‘Left’, after Lance Thackeray dating from circa 1910:

Antique Snooker Prints After L Thackeray C. 1910

These prints are mounted within oak frames with an interesting snooker cue and ball decoration. Each has a plaque inscribed with the title of the pictures which are; “Snookered” and “Left”.

The prints are initialed LT and they are also signed and numbered set 45 on the mounts making these an ideal present for a snooker/billiards enthusiast. The prints measure 60cm high x 75cm wide which is, in inches, 2 feet x 2 feet, 5 inches and are offered for sale at just £375 with the option to ship worldwide – contact us for a shipping quote.

Our next selection is this interesting set of antique 18th century style framed prints entitled ‘Billiards’ after H. Bunbury circa 1930 which also includes a framed set of fifty Ogdens Cigarette cards from the ‘Trick Billiards’ series.

Henry William Bunbury (1750 – 7 May 1811) was a well known and collectable English caricaturist. These prints have mahogany frames and measure 60cm x 65cm. They are on offer at just £325 and can be shipped worldwide.

Moving away from snooker now, we turn our attention to this antique oil on canvas painting of a ‘Nobleman & His Wife’ dating from around 1850:

Antique Oil Painting “Noblemand & His Wife” c. 1850

The painting depicts facing portraits of a couple who are both dressed in seventeenth century costumes. Their identities are not known. The picture bears a label for Aitken Dott & Son, established 1842, an art dealer that was based in Castle Street, Edinburgh.

The painting measures 94 x 106cm in its original Florentine, giltwood frame with ornate scrolls and shells. We are offering this lovely antique oil painting at just £4150.
