Recently Sold Antique Furniture at Regent Antiques

It’s always interesting to see what people are buying, some are collectors and others buying for the purposes of interior design or in order to obtain functional items such as antique dining tables and chairs, antique desks and other items of antique furniture.

Over the last few days we have managed to find caring new owners for a number of beautiful items of antique furniture, take a look for yourselves and remember, although these are sold, our buyers are always on the lookout for more so if it’s antique tables. chairs, desks or other items you are looking for – we’re always worth a visit, online or in person at our London showroom.

First item to recently move to pastures new is this Antique Set of 8 English Hepplewhite Dining Chairs dating from around 1900:

Set of 8 Antique Dining Chairs, in the Hepplewhite Style

The set comprises of six chairs and two armchairs. Made from solid Mahogany, these fine dining chairs were re-upholstered with fine leather in our own workshops before being offered for sale and will give years of service to their new owners.

Each of the chairs measures: – Height 96 x Width 49 x Depth 51 whilst the armchairs each measure: – Height 102 x Width 57 x Depth 56. These dimensions being in centimeters.

Our next recently sold item is this Antique French Kingwood Commode Chest with Marble Top which was made around 1880:

Antique Commode, French, Kingwood c. 1880

This is a very inlaid rosewood bow fronted chest, in rosewood complimented with exquisite satinwood crossbanded decoration to the front and sides.

The commode has four useful full width drawers that are lined with solid oak, has a striking “Marmo di Brescia” marble top, and is further decorated with fabulous ormolu handles and mounts. The dimensions, in centimeters are as follows: – Height 90 x Width 80 x Depth 41.

Good looking and useful too – not me, the chest.

Antique Chairs – a Pair of Hepplewhite Style Armchairs c.1900

This pair of fine antique chairs, in the style of Hepplewhite, have just been sold and are typical of the top quality antique chairs and tables that we at Regent Antiques love to source, restore if necessary, and offer to our customers. These chairs have been masterfully crafted in beautiful solid mahogany and feature hand carved wheat sheaf decoration, typical of the Hepplewhite style. They feature an attractive shield back design and seats that have been reupholstered in the finest cream damask.
