Most of the mirrors we offer for sale range from the very simple through to those with highly ornate frames or which are made in unusual shapes.
One such example is this antique large French giltwood wall mirror. This is a large impressive antique French carved giltwood and gesso wall mirror, circa 1860 in date.
The frame is surmounted with a striking carved giltwood central finial with shell anthemion, acanthus leaf, foliage and berries decoration. The rectangular mirror is framed with flower heads and beading.
The quality and craftsmanship of this stunning piece are absolutely superb.
Our second featured item is this vintage monumental Italian Rococo giltwood decorative mirror. It is a finely hand carved monumental Italian Rococo Revival giltwood mirror, dating from the late 20th century.
It features a large exaggerated central multi directional pieced acanthus leaf cartouche crest.
The outset corners have decorative c scrolls with foliate and floral ornamentation.
Add an elegant touch to a special corner of your home with this fantastic mirror, which is in really excellent condition having been beautifully cleaned, polished and waxed in our workshops.
Next, we would like to present to you this antique shield shaped Venetian mirror. It is a delightful small Venetian glass etched mirror, circa 1880 in date.
This mirror has a large rose cartouche crest and is finely shield shaped with bead trim, rope styled borders, and flower-head accents. It is wonderfully hand-etched with scrolling vines and flying birds.
This is a very elegant mirror and it is assured to receive the maximum amount of attention wherever it is hung.
Our last item for display is a remarkable antique French Trumeau mirror with matching console table. This is a monumental fine and elegant French Louis XVIII carved giltwood console table with matching Trumeau mirror, circa 1820 in date.
The beautifully carved giltwood marble topped console has a shaped marble top over a conforming carved decorative frieze with a central shell crest and trailing foliate devices. It is all raised on carved legs with rosettes and toupee feet, the shaped stretcher having an elaborately carved acanthus leaf crest.
The panelled mirror with a beautiful crest at the top is inset with an oil painting, on copper, in the manner of Francois Boucher. The painting depicts a romantic scene with a young man affirming his love to a graceful damsel.
There is no mistaking the superb quality and suave design of this piece, which is certain to transform a special place in your home.
