Art Deco Furniture – Cocktail Cabinets

We’ve selected two of our finest Art Deco Cocktail Cabinets for this feature. They are representative of the elegance and style typical of the Art Deco period which was at its peak in the 1920’s and both are superb examples of the standard of Art Deco furniture for which we at Regent Antiques are famous.

Let’s start with this Antique Art Deco Burr Walnut Cocktail Bar – an excellent example of stylish yet functional Art Deco furniture which dates from around 1920:

Antique Art Deco Burr Walnut Cocktail Bar c.1920

Fully restored by our own craftsmen in our own workshop, this cocktail cabinet is in two parts, both of which have fluted front and sides.

The top section of the cabinet opens to reveal a mirrored interior, fitted  with glass shelves and a pull out tray for serving the drinks. The inside of each of the doors has galleried shelves to store mixers, bottles and glasses. The two doors below open to reveal a sizable cupboard for storing bottles of drinks.

There is an internal light which comes on when the door is opened. This has been rewired and is in working order. This lovely cabinet is supplied with its original key.

The dimensions of the cocktail cabinet are, in cm: Height 191 x Width 137 x Depth 50. For those of you who prefer feet and inches, it is as follows: Height 6 feet, 3 inches x Width 4 feet, 6 inches x Depth 1 foot, 8 inches.

Next we have an Antique Art Deco Chinoiserie Cocktail Cabinet which was manufactured around 1920:

This lovely piece is a fine example with its Chinoiserie lacquered decoration. At the back of the item there is a paper label bearing details of the original owner and manufacturer’s name ‘Rivington Cabinet Works , 35/37 Rivington Street, Shoreditch, EC2’.

There is a pull down door which opens to reveal a mirrored interior, decorated with golden ‘bar associated’ images of glasses, shakers, olives, etc. The cabinet is supplied with a few basic accessories like the plated lemon squeezer and the cocktail sticks. The bottom section of the cabinet has twin doors which open to reveal a shelf with ample storage space for bottles and spirits.

The cabinet is decorated with hand painted Chimoiserie art works depicting rural life of Chinese people. Dimensions are: Height 112 x Width 63 x Depth 37 (cm) or in inches: Height 3 feet, 8 inches x Width 2 feet, 1 inch x Depth 1 foot, 3 inches.

Restored to its full glory in our own workshops and supplied with original locks and keys, this cabinet, which also has a fully functioning interior lamp, is on offer for £1250.
