Despite its age, having been made in 1697, this tankard is in remarkably good condition and shows no signs of damage or of ever having been repaired.

This striking antique silver William & Mary lidded tankard has hallmarks showing it having been made in London by Charles Overing, whose mark it also carries.

The tankard is of cylindrical form with moulded foot, the stepped lid has a scalloped peak, it has an S shaped handle with a cast openwork thumb piece. The dimensions of the tankard are: Height 19 x Width 20 x Depth 13 & the weight is 23.5 troy oz.

Another lovely piece, almost as old as the previous one but every bit as good to look at is this wonderful large antique English George III sterling silver tankard with spout, which bears hallmarks for London 1774 and the makers mark of John Allen.Antique Silver Tankards & Mugs by Regent Antiques

This tankard weighs in at 32 troy oz and measures Height 22cm x Width 21cm x Depth 12cm.

This is a fine example of an antique English sterling silver mug by the celebrated female silversmith who was active in London during the latter half of the 1700s.
A superb example of the kind of quality that she is famous for, this piece bears the hallmarks for London 1783 and the maker’s mark of Hester Bateman.
