Large Victorian Style Table with a Split Personality & 16 Chairs

We know that there are many places where you can go and buy a dining table, even an antique dining table, for your dining room or perhaps your kitchen. The transformation from long to round is achieved using a very convenient and easy to use winding mechanism and up to four extension leaves. If you only need the extra seating capacity on an occasional basis then it can be left in a smaller state, occupying less space, and then extended as required.

This fine table is part of a Victorian style marquetry dining set, comprising a gorgeous burr walnut and marquetry dining room table with the matching set of sixteen chairs.

As you can see from the photographs, the table is constructed from hand-picked materials and featuring a divine burr walnut surface which has a really beautiful grain having been lovingly French polished by hand.

French polish is an alcohol and shellac polish used to bring out the beauty of wood grain surfaces. It takes a lot of patience and hard work to apply but when done properly, it is one of the most beautiful finishes available, producing an exceptionally high gloss.

Naturally, a table as large as this requires very strong construction, especially when it comes to the legs and you will see from the image below that no corners have been cut there – this tale has no less than six strong, decorative legs to support its considerable weight.

Will It Fit?

Well, you’re going to need a fairly large space to accommodate this table when it is fully extended so please take a note of the dimensions which are as follows:

Length, when fully extended, 495cm, (16ft 3in) Height  79cm (2ft 7in) and 180cm (5ft 1in) deep.

When reduced to a round table the diameter is 180cm (almost 6ft).
