We offer a wide range of finest antique sideboards, antique chiffoniers and antique credenzas. Buy from one of the UK's premier furniture dealers. We have a lovely collection of antique sideboards, antique chiffoniers and antique credenzas available for viewing and for sale ranging from a Regency Sheraton style mahogany sideboards with inlaid marquetry decoration to other examples from the Art Deco period and beyond.

Our antique Victorian sideboards, and those from other historic periods in furniture making history are crafted from the finest burr walnut and many of our antique credenzas have glass doors for display purposes. Some pieces also feature beautiful Sevres porcelain plaques and ormolu decoration to further enhance their appearance.

One of our currently listed pieces is virtually identical to that seen in the award winning television drama Downton Abbey filmed at Highclere Castle in Hampshire – the home of the Earl and Countess of Carnarvon.

Antique Sideboards, Not Just A Dining Room Accessory

I have a confession to make. I always thought of sideboards as being the most “dull” items of furniture. Why, because they were, in my mind (wrongly as it turns out), a purely functional item. A sideboard is where our mother kept the tableware, cutlery, table linen and other items necessary for serving meals. It was also a useful surface for various ornaments, clocks and similar items to be displayed.

I was wrong, of course. Although sideboards are used for all of the above, and that is all many people want from them, they do have so much more to offer.

In this category you will find antique sideboards, antique chiffoniers (a chiffonier typically has a mirror mounted on the top), and antique credenzas, (a credenza is a sideboard, often without legs and having display space rather than just storage).

Sideboards, Credenza and Chiffoniers Always In Stock Here At Regent Antiques

We hold very significant stock of these items due to their popularity and the fact that nice examples are always sought after and in demand. Many of these items are from major makers in furniture making history but many more are either unique or, at the very least, not so commonplace. If you are looking for a particular style or design of sideboard then you are well advised to check this category of our website regularly.

A personal visit to our showroom will also be beneficial if you want to examine our stock close up. Our team of furniture specialists will be on hand to help you but if you need specific questions answering it is best to call or email in advance of your visit to ensure that someone will be available when you arrive.

Sometimes a sideboard can also double up as a cocktail cabinet or bar, the two functions being similar, and we often describe a piece as such. Try to be really clear in your own mind what type of functionality you require. If the storage of bottles and glasses is important then some designs in our showroom may not be suitable - once again, a chat with our experts will almost always pay dividends.

We are certain that you will be able to find the antique sideboard or credenza of your choice here at Regent Antiques. Our stock ranges from plain and functional through to ornate and decorative - but still functional. Please take the time to have a thorough look and ask questions as they come up - we want you to be delighted with your new antique sideboard.
