This profusely inlaid Syrian Damascus games table dates from Circa 1910, and has multiple geometric and asymmetric inlays of various exotic veneers.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a similarly inlaid interior and a removable reversible top with green baize on one side and a chess board on the other. This can be removed to reveal the stunning inset backgammon table below.
The whole top swivels to reveal a space which can be used to store cards and game pieces. The table is raised on four shaped legs united by a wide inlaid stretcher. It is a wonderful example of Syrian furniture and is a very pretty decorative piece.
The table is exquisitely crafted in hardwood and features wonderful inlaid decoration comprising, ebony, bone, walnut and various fruitwoods.
