This is a lovely antique Edwardian sterling silver jewellery casket bearing the makers mark of H.Matthews, and hallmarks for Birmingham 1901.
The rectangular hinged box cover is chased with figures in 18th Century dress within a cartouche surrounded by scrolls and foliage, the sides are chased with scrolling foliage.
The lift up lid reveals an interior clad with cedar wood and the original green silk.
