This is a fabulous antique Victorian burr walnut writing and stationery box of domed form with elaborate decorative brass mounts and Wedgewood plaque, circa 1860 in date.
The back with arched cover enclosing a paper and envelope holder with the original blue silk lining. This is above a brass candlestick flanked by the original cut glass inkwells behind a pen tray. There is an underlying hidden drawer with a lift up writing surface which retails it's original gold tooled inset leather.
The whole set is embellished with brass Gothic Revival strap work mounted with a decorative circular Wedgewood Plaque. The fitted interior reveals sections to accommodate your letters & notes.
Complete with original working lock and key.
This is a highly decorative piece which will make a statement once placed on any period desk.
