This is a stunning antique pair of 19th Century parcel-gilt and dark patinated bronze library bookends, circa 1860 in date.
These high-quality hot cast solid bronzes were produced by using the traditional "lost wax" process, otherwise known as the "cire perdue" method.
In excellent condition. As antique items, the pieces show signs of use commensurate with age, these minor condition issues are mentioned for accuracy and, as seen in the accompanying photographs, the bronzes display beautifully.
