This truly splendid and excellently executed miniature figure of a horse bears the full sponsors marks of the renowned silversmiths, John Pinches (Medallists) Ltd, London, as well as the 1977 Silver Jubilee marks.
Of equestrian interest, this magnificent cast model of a cantering horse features the proud animal in all its glory. Above his front raised legs there is an equally beautiful game bird with its feathers widely open in the act of starting to fly from the naturalistic field.
The distinguished oval ebonised base has a rectangular plaque to one side with the inscription 'Peter 17-3-84 Elisabeth'.
The model bears full hallmarks - 925 for continental sterling silver, letter Z, for Dutch silver, the London import mark (the astrological sign for the constellation Leo), the letter 'C' for 1977, and the sponsors' marks 'JP' for John Pinches. The plaque also bears the stamp 'sterling'.
There is no mistaking the unique quality and design, which is sure to make this set a treasured piece by any discerning silver collector.
