This profusely inlaid Syrian Damascus games table dates from Circa 1910, and has multiple geometric and asymmetric inlays of various woods and mother of pearl.
The hinged lid opens to reveal a similarly inlaid interior and a removable reversible top with green baize on one side and a chess board on the other. This can be removed to reveal the stunning inset backgammon table below.
The whole top swivels to reveal a space which can be used to store cards and game pieces. The table is raised on four shaped legs united by a wide inlaid stretcher. It is a wonderful example of Syrian furniture and is a very pretty decorative piece.
The table is exquisitely crafted and features wonderful inlaid decoration comprising, ebony, bone, walnut and various fruitwoods.
