This is a magnificent large antique English Victorian silver plated venison tureen with domed cover, circa 1860 in date.
This stunning tureen is oval in shape and features an exquisite beaded border with a domed lid surmounted by a decorative beaded handle. It stands on four wonderful elegant feet in the shape of acanthus leaves.
It is of the highest quality and features a double skinned base with a screw threaded plug on the side so that it can be filled with hot water to keep the food warm. The top of the base has an integral tree and well of the highest quality for capturing the gravy juices.
It comes with its original large antique carving claw to keep the roast steady while you carve.
It bears the unidentified makers' marks 'SW & S'.
In excellent condition, this wonderful venison tureen with domed cover is ready to grace your dining table.
