This is fabulous Vintage dining set comprising a Regency style dining table by William Tillman, Circa 1980 in date and an antique set of ten Hepplewhite dining chairs C1880 in date.
The table is made of stunning solid flame mahogany and is raised on three "gun barrel" turned columns on quadruple swept sabre leg bases which are fitted with brass toes and castors.
This table was purchased at great expense from the master cabinet maker William Tillman, Crouch Lane, Borough Green Kent in March 1982.
The table has two leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion. This makes it a versatile dining table which can comfortably seat twelve people.
The underside bears labels for William Tillman and is stamped 443A.
The fantastic antique English set of ten mahogany shield back dining chairs of "Hepplewhite" design are circa 1880 in date and compliment the table perfectly.
The set comprising eight sidechairs and two armchairs, the shield shaped backs with shaped and pierced splats that have beautiful hand carved leaf swag and anthemion decoration. The overstuffed seats are upholstered in a sumptuous tan coloured leather with double conehandspringing and brass studs. They are raised on square tapered legs with spade feet.
These chairs have been masterfully crafted in beautiful solid mahogany throughout and the finish and attention to detail on display are truly breathtaking.
In excellent condition the table having been beautifully cleaned, polished and waxed and the chairs polished and reupholstered in our workshops, please see photos for confirmation.
