This is a large beautifully detailed bronze sculpture of a standing Roman Emperor, dating from the last quarter of the 20th century.
The dark brown patinated Roman Emperor has a sensitively modelled face and is wearing an acanthus leaf civic wreath, while holding up a flowing trabea toga, that flows to the ground over one bent knee on a stepped bronze and black figured marble base which is signed DAIOV.
This is truly a beautiful display item and it will no doubt become the centrepiece of your collection. The attention to detail here is remarkable and this bronze is sure to receive the maximum amount of attention wherever it is placed.
This high quality hot cast solid bronze was produced using the traditional "lost wax" process, otherwise known as the "cire perdue" method.
