Antique dining chairs, armchairs, sofas and stools – all of these form an important part of our inventory here at Regent Antiques.<\/h2>\n

This week we’re taking a look at the chairs we have recently sold so that you can see both the diversity and the quality of the stock that we hold. If you see something below that you would have liked to own yourself, don’t worry, our buyers are constantly adding new stock to our north London showroom and our resident craftsmen in our own workshop will sympathetically restore them to their former glory before they are sold.<\/p>\n

First of all let’s take a look at this\u00a0Antique Pair of Victorian Mahogany Armchairs dating from around 1880<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Antique Victorian Mahogany Armchairs<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n

With hand carved solid mahogany frames, elegant curved lines and being raised on decorative scrolled supports, these chairs are both lovely to look at and comfortable to sit in.<\/p>\n

They are upholstered in a green damask with delicate floral pattern. Made from mahogany, these chairs measure as follows:\u00a0Height 88cm x Width 73cm x Depth 89cm.<\/p>\n

Another fine example from our range of antique chairs to have recently been sold is this\u00a0Antique French Empire Style Mahogany Armchair c.1880<\/a>:<\/p>\n

The new owner of this fine chair now owns a beautiful antique mahogany fauteiul or open arm chair in the fabulous Empire Style, circa 1880 in date.<\/p>\n

The mahogany used is beautiful in colour and has been tastefully embellished with striking ormolu mounts. Added to this there are hand carved busts of sphinxes to each side along with carved feet, all of which is typical of the Empire style.<\/p>\n

The chair been beautifully reupholstered in a striking emerald green velvet making it ideal for use with a desk, a card table or in a bedroom.<\/p>\n

Art Deco is a style which never goes out of fashion and for which there is always a demand. As our regular customers will know, we always try to keep a nice selection of Art Deco furniture and we were pleased to be able to find a caring new home for this\u00a0Antique Set of 4 Art Deco Walnut Dining Chairs c.1920<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Upholstered in a cream fabric with delicate floral pattern which complements perfectly the cane backs and the lovely walnut frames, this is a set of four chairs dating from around 1920. Each chair measures:\u00a0Height 96cm x Width 47cm x Depth 40cm.<\/p>\n
