The hinged cover is set with a beautiful panel depicting Watteauesque figures within colourful foliate borders. The lid opens up to reveal the original button-backed and silk-lined interior, and the casket is raised on attractive ormolu bun feet.<\/p>\n\n\n

An 18th-century Bavarian burr walnut commode of serpentine shape is a rare and highly sought-after example of South German Baroque or Rococo craftsmanship. Produced in regions such as Bavaria and Franconia during the mid-18th century, these bombe or serpentine forms were prized for their movement, richness of materials, and superb construction. This particular example embodies those qualities perfectly and would make a distinguished and timeless addition to any refined interior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
