We start off with this gorgeous antique Victorian ormolu mounted amboyna and burr walnut  desk<\/a>, dating from circa 1870.<\/p>\n\n\n

This lovely writing table is crafted from the most beautiful burr walnut with ebony banded decoration and boxwood stringing. The top is inset with a gold tooled tan green leather writing surface above two frieze drawers and it is raised on elegant twin turned tapering legs that terminate in carved trestles joined by a stretcher.<\/p>\n\n\n

Another striking item is this superb antique Victorian flame mahogany marquetry inlaid and satinwood crossbanded pedestal kneehole desk<\/a> by the renowned Victorian cabinet makers Edwards & Roberts, dating from circa 1880.<\/p>\n\n\n

It is made from fabulous flame mahogany and the top features an inset green and gold tooled leather writing surface.<\/p>\n\n\n

The top has an elegant ogee moulded edge and there are three drawers in the frieze as well as  three graduated drawers in each pedestal. The drawer linings are of solid mahogany with hand cut dovetails, and the table has its original brass handles and locks.<\/p>\n\n\n

The frieze has a lockable central drawer; when it is fully opened it releases two secret drawers, one on each side, via a spring lock. This magnificent desk is made from satinwood, which has been crossbanded in tulipwood bordered with boxwood and ebony lines and decorated to all sides. The top has an exquisite marquetry decoration of musical trophies, lyres and scrolling foliage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
