Beautiful and Decorative Antique Bronzes<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

To start off, we are pleased to present to you this superb antique French bronze sculpture of a pacing lion<\/a> by the noted French sculptor of the Animeliers school, Paul Edouard Delabrierre, dating from circa 1870.<\/p>\n\n\n

This stunning bronze sculpture features a striking lion pacing, his feet planted resolutely on the earth while being ready to attack, his face turned towards the viewer with his eyes emanating energy and concentration. All the glory of the animal comes through – the sculptor did everything to make the figure stand out in space, making the whole sculpture vivid and enjoyable. <\/p>\n\n\n

This high-quality hot cast solid bronze was produced using the traditional “lost wax” process, otherwise known as the “cire perdue” method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a splendid antique bronze sculpture of the Animalier school, which is sure to receive the maximum amount of attention wherever it is placed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Our second featured item is this lovely antique French bronze Grand Tour model of the Arc De Triomphe<\/a>, dating from circa 1860.<\/p>\n\n\n

The beautifully realistic model is cast in high relief and is mounted on a black marble base. <\/p>\n\n\n

The monument stands at the western end of the Champs-\u00c9lys\u00e9es at the centre of Place Charles de Gaulle, formerly named Place de l’\u00c9toile\u2014the \u00e9toile or “star” of the juncture formed by its twelve radiating avenues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Arc de Triomphe honours those who fought and died for France in the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars, with the names of all French victories and generals inscribed on its inner and outer surfaces. Beneath its vault lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from World War I.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is a magnificent piece which is sure to be a wonderful addition to your collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another striking item is this antique French bronze and malachite sculpture of a warrior<\/a>, dating from circa 1850.<\/p>\n\n\n

This finely cast dark brown patinated bronze figure depicts a knight in armour with sword and the top of his helmet adorned with a crown.<\/p>\n\n\n

The bronze is raised on a stupendous rectangular ormolu mounted malachite base. <\/p>\n\n\n

There is no mistaking the unique quality and design, which is sure to make this a treasured piece by any discerning collector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aside from a large selection of antique bronzes<\/a> we also have a great range of beautiful vintage bronzes, including some which are life-size or even larger and which may be displayed either indoors or outdoors. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A perfect example is this truly spectacular vintage French two-tier fountain<\/a> sculpted in bronze in the Neo-classical style, dating from the late 20th century.<\/p>\n\n\n

This formidable fountain sprays water out of the top, out of the vases held by the maidens and out of four large roaring lion’s head cartouches. The water goes into the top tier and out through seven lion’s-head water spouts. It is heavily decorated with roses, scallop ribbing, and acanthus leaves.<\/p>\n\n\n

It is raised by a column with four classically dressed maidens each holding an amphora vase and each vase spouts water on a different level.<\/p>\n\n\n

This fountain is cast from solid bronze and was made by the traditional lost wax “cire perdue” method.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
