The last few weeks have seen our expert buyers very busy hunting for the best antique treasures to offer to our clients. Check out these wonderful new arrivals<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n

We are very proud to be able to offer for sale this gorgeous pair of antique Adam Revival satinwood concave side cabinets<\/a> with beautiful hand-painted floral decoration, dating from the late 19th century.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Just<\/a><\/p>\n

Each cabinet has a useful frieze drawer above a pair of cupboard doors, with oval panels that have striking hand-painted decoration of urns of flowers, in the manner of Angelica Kauffman. <\/span><\/p>\n

Angelica Kauffman (1741 – 1807) was a Swiss-born Austrian Neoclassical painter who had a successful career in London and Rome. While Kauffman produced many types of art, she identified herself primarily as a history painter, an unusual designation for a female artist in the 18th century. The works of Angelica Kauffman have retained their reputation. By 1911, rooms decorated with her work were still to be seen in various quarters.<\/span><\/p>\n

These lovely cabinets are each fitted with a central shelf and are raised on decorative swept bracket feet.<\/span><\/p>\n

A very rare and unusual Victorian tray by George Richmond Collis & Co<\/span><\/p>\n

Secondly, this is a rare and highly unusual antique English Victorian silver plated tray<\/a> bearing the makers’ mark of the highly sought after silversmith George Richmond Collis & Co of Birmingham, circa 1870 in date.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Just<\/a>This magnificent large silver-plated tray is of unusual baroque shape and features a fabulous border with richly chased foliate and floral decoration, grapes, vines and four exquisite classical heads.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Just<\/a><\/p>\n

The tray is raised on four solid and richly chased matching feet in the shape of foliate, grapes and vines. It will look fabulous on your sideboard with sme decanters. The quality and craftsmanship throughout the piece are truly second to none.<\/span><\/p>\n

The timeless beauty of Royal Worcester porcelain<\/span><\/p>\n

Another new arrival that we are very pleased to offer for sale is this stunning pair of antique Royal Worcester porcelain two handled pedestal ovoid vases<\/a>, bearing the date code for 1903 and shape no. 2269.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Just<\/a><\/p>\n

The pair features beautiful hand-painted apples and plums set within exquisite raised gilt-shaped cartouches against a cobalt blue background. The backs of the vases have extraordinary gilt floral decoration. These splendid vases were masterfully painted by Frederick Chivers, and both are signed on the bottom of the cartouches ‘Chivers’. The vases have tall necks with alternating gilt and white vertical bands which add extra elegance to this magnificent pair.<\/span><\/p>\n

A dramatic antique oil painting by Giuseppe Raggio<\/span><\/p>\n

Next, for all of you who love antique oil paintings, this recently acquired artwork might be the piece to add to your private collection. It is a dramatic antique oil on canvas painting<\/a> of a Bedouin war party by the renowned Italian artist Giuseppe Raggio, signed and dated \u2018Roma 83,\u2019 for 1883.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Just<\/a><\/p>\n

The painting features five traditionally dressed Bedouin fighters racing their horses through the desert armed with long guns. It is housed in its original giltwood frame. <\/span><\/p>\n

Inscribed on the back is the provenance: <\/span>Christie’s, 19th Century Continental Pictures and Watercolours, October 2nd 1992, Lot 97.<\/span><\/p>\n

Luxury French ormolu and Sevres porcelain inkstand<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s now time for some lovely French antiques. This is a wonderful French Louis Revival ormolu and Sevres porcelain inkstand<\/a>, circa 1870 in date.<\/span><\/p>\n

This stunning inkstand is mounted with an exquisite Bleu Celeste Sevres porcelain panel of rectangular shape, which has been masterfully gilded and painted with two lovely putti emblematic of music.<\/span><\/p>\n

It has an ink reservoir and inkwell of rectangular shape which features beautiful porcelain-mounted floral decoration, including a pink rose and a white daisy, against a white background. The pleasing inkwell is hinged and encloses its original internal glass. <\/span><\/p>\n

The elegant ormolu base and feet are boldly cast with shaped shields, C-scrolls and acanthus leaves, adding an extra touch of charm to this exquisite item.<\/span><\/p>\n

There is no mistaking its unique quality and design, which is sure to make it a treasured piece by any discerning collector.<\/span><\/p>\n

An elegant flame mahogany table dating from 1820<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally, do please take a moment to check this elegant antique George III Regency Period dining table<\/a>, circa 1820 in date.<\/span><\/p>\n

The table is raised on three bases each with turned pillars with sabre legs terminating in brass claw caps and castors. It has two leaves which can be added or removed as required to suit the occasion, and can comfortably seat twelve.<\/span><\/p>\n

The table top is of beautiful flame mahogany and there is no mistaking the fine craftsmanship of this handsome dining table which is certain to become a treasured addition to your furniture collection and a talking point with guests at meal times.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Just<\/a><\/p>\n

It came from Okeover Hall, a privately owned Grade II listed country house in Staffordshire. It is the family seat of the Okeover family, who have been in residence since the reign of William Rufus. The house lies close to the border between Staffordshire and Derbyshire, which lies on the far side of the small River Dove. Several members of the family have served as High Sheriff of Staffordshire and \u00a0Derbyshire.<\/span><\/p>\n
