A Humidor<\/strong> is a box or room kept at a constant humidity for storing cigars, cigarettes, pipe tobacco or any other object that needs to be kept at a controlled level of moisture to ensure its best quality or performance.<\/p>\n

Humidors come in a range of materials including acrylic glass or wood for the smaller boxes used for a few dozen cigars, whilst cigar stores may have walk-in humidors.<\/p>\n

Humidors can be used to store other valuable items isuch as paintings, drawings, fabrics and even baseballs. The Colorado Rockies Major League Baseball team store their game balls at their home stadium in a large humidor to counteract Denver\u2019s high altitude and low humidity.<\/p>\n

Humidor Classifications<\/h2>\n

Walk-in humidor<\/strong> – this is most commonly found in cigar shops and bars. A single room is made into a humidor for storing the entire stock of cigars.
\nCabinet humidor – this is usually seen as piece of furniture and is placed on the floor. One typically holds between 1000 and 5000 cigars.<\/p>\n

Table humidor<\/strong> – these are meant to be portable, but are often quite heavy so tend to be kept in one location. They are often considered as \u2018objets d\u2019art\u2019 and come with a marble, leather or polished wood exterior and a glass top. They usually hold between 300 to a few thousand cigars.<\/p>\n

Personal humidor<\/strong> – cigar smokers will sometimes have a small humidor in their homes for their own use. A typical specimen usually contains 20-75 cigars and can be aesthetically pleasing in its own right as well as serving the functional requirement. This may also be known as a “Desktop Humidor”.<\/p>\n

Travel humidor<\/strong> – is a portable version made for carrying enough cigars for an event or outing – usually between 2 to 10 cigars.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
