Based in Rome he painted mainly in the orientalist style featuring middle eastern (Islamic) subjects as well as genre art (scenes and events from everyday life).<\/p>\n<p>He worked in oil and watercolour and his works include<br \/>\n&#8216;The Return from Work\u2019 exhibited in Turin in 1880 and \u2019Prayer by Muslims&#8217; in Milan in 1881. He went on to exhibit two paintings: &#8216;Abbey of San Gregorio in Venice and \u2018Fulvia&#8217;, in Rome in 1883. In 1884 he displayed an oil painting: &#8216;Gelosia&#8217;, and a watercolour: &#8216;The Mother\u2019 in Turin and in Livorno in 1886, he showed &#8216;Meditazione&#8217;.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Enrico Tarenghi (1848 \u2013 1938) was an Italian painter.
