Although we focus, here at Regent Antiques, on supplying antique furniture and, in particular, large antique dining tables and large conference tables and antique dining chairs, we also carry a fine and extensive range of comfortable armchairs and other types of seating for use in a variety of settings. Our buyers have been hard at work and as a result we’ve just acquired this lovely pair of \u00a0antique English handmade leather wingback Chippendale style armchairs<\/a> which date from around 1900:<\/p>\n

These very comfortable and wonderful looking antique leather chairs are sturdily built by craftsmen and mounted on hand-carved solid mahogany cabriole legs with acanthus decoration. These versatile chairs would be perfect for the lounge or office of course but would also be equally at home in a hotel, restaurant or other commercial setting.<\/p>\n

\"Stylish<\/a><\/p>\n

The chairs have been re-upholstered in our own workshops using fine quality Scottish leather hide and have been hand dyed using a special walnut based stain – we call the colour “browny burnt orange” and it is very distinctive and complements both the style and the period of the chairs perfectly.<\/p>\n

The impressive studding was applied by hand using\u00a0individual studs and not by using the cheaper and easier to apply strips, each stud having been individually hammered in by hand – as it should be done.<\/p>\n
