We are pleased to be able to offer for sale these two very fine examples of antique cutlery; this time they are both sets of Fish Knives and Forks and were made in that most famous of cutlery manufacturing cities, Sheffield, England – otherwise known as “Steel City”.

The first set, just into stock, is this Antique Victorian Boxed Set Fish Knives & Forks which dates from around 1870:

There are twelve silver plated fish knives and fish forks together with a pair of large servers, marked with the Sheffield maker mark JSS and dated from around 1870.

In addition to the  beautifully made engraved blades, this cutlery also boasts beautiful mother of pearl handles. This attractive and useful cutlery set is presented in its original oak and navy with cream blue lined box complete with a blank brass plaque ready for your own choice of engraving. This box opens in a cantilevered style to present the cutlery at its best.

What we have here is a set of twelve silver plated fish knives and fish forks complete with a pair of large servers bearing the silver hall marks on the collars for Sheffield, 1923, and the makers mark JY for Yates Brothers of Sheffield, England, 1923:

The set also has the mark WB & S, a renowned retailer called William Bruford & Sons of Eastbourne, who are still trading to this day.

They knives have the most exquisite engraved blades and all the pieces have ivorine handles. The cutlery set is presented in its original solid mahogany box complete with a blank brass cartouche which is ready to be engraved with your choice of letters.
