Stunning New Arrivals to Ring in the New Year
As the holidays fade into distant memory and winter’s quiet hibernation settles in, what better way to pass the time than by exploring our latest new arrivals— a collection of exceptional pieces newly added to our gallery?
We are delighted to present a carefully curated selection of antiques that celebrate artistry, heritage, and timeless design.
Let us begin with this magnificent antique French porcelain casket, dating to circa 1870.

This superb French porcelain-mounted Champlevé enamel and onyx casket features a serpentine oval form. The hinged cover is set with a beautiful panel depicting Watteauesque figures within colourful foliate borders. The lid opens up to reveal the original button-backed and silk-lined interior, and the casket is raised on attractive ormolu bun feet.

Its provenance is equally compelling: formerly part of the distinguished collection at Corby Castle in Carlisle, England — the residence of Lord and Lady Ballyedmond.
Next, we present a truly stunning pair of antique French ormolu jardinieres, also dating to circa 1870.

This exquisite 19th-century pair, crafted in the Louis XIV Revival style, features finely applied lion mask and loop handles. The bodies are richly cast with decorative strapwork over pierced basketwork panels and are set upon elegantly gadrooned circular bases. Bold yet graceful, they exemplify the grandeur and craftsmanship of the period.

Like the porcelain casket, these jardinieres also originate from Corby Castle in Carlisle, adding further distinction to their appeal.
Finally, we are delighted to showcase a rare antique burr walnut Bavarian commode, circa 1760.

This 18th century serpentine commode is decoratively crossbanded in long grain walnut with four full-width drawers, all fitted with their original brass handles and escutcheons. The commode is raised on bracket feet.

An 18th-century Bavarian burr walnut commode of serpentine shape is a rare and highly sought-after example of South German Baroque or Rococo craftsmanship. Produced in regions such as Bavaria and Franconia during the mid-18th century, these bombe or serpentine forms were prized for their movement, richness of materials, and superb construction. This particular example embodies those qualities perfectly and would make a distinguished and timeless addition to any refined interior.
These exceptional pieces remind us that true craftsmanship never fades. Each carries its own story — of artistry, heritage, and distinguished provenance — while offering enduring beauty for the modern interior.
From the delicate refinement of the French porcelain casket to the bold elegance of the ormolu jardinieres and the sculptural presence of the Bavarian commode, each example brings character and depth to a space.
