It has been wonderfully  made by a master craftsman, the quality of the work is breathtaking, and the burr walnut is of the highest quality.

The main talking pont when showing it to friends is the  secret compartment at the rear on top  for pens, letters, stamps, etc, which rises up by itself when a hidden catch is pressed.  It rises by an ingenious system of pulleys and a hidden weight. It stands on it's original brass and porcelain castors.
