Parts have been gilded to highlight them and the bases are made from Verde Antico Italian marble. They are a marvellous example of a sculptors work and will grace any interior.
The base bears the following inscription in French " PAR J.P.CAUVET.SCULPTEUR.DE .MONSIEUR .FRERE.DU.ROY "
Each candelabra will hold 13 candles.
They are cast from the Lost Wax, or Cire Perdue, process. Clay to wax to bronze-the lost wax process is a method for changing a sculpture made of soft clay into a harder material such as bronze, which captures the most minute detail of the artists original work.
