An truly stunning enormous pair of life size French classical bronze statues in the Empire style.
These enormous pieces feature classical women and various cherubs full of emotion and expression. The attention to detail is absolutely fantastic and really brings them to life. The photos do not do them full justice. These incredible imposing statues would look absolutely spectacular either indoors or outdoors, perhaps on either side of a large entrance. These high quality bronze statues were hot cast using the 'lost wax' (cire perdue) process. Fully wired and ready for use. Height 258 cm Width 72 cm Depth 72 cm Sometimes called by the French name of 'cire perdue' or the Latin, 'cera perduta' is the process by which a bronze or brass is cast from an artist's sculpture. In industrial uses, the modern process is called investment casting. An ancient practice, the process today varies from foundry to foundry, but the steps which are usually used in casting small bronze sculptures in a modern bronze foundry are generally quite standardised.
