The subject of this painting is delightful. Two couples are on the riverside in period costume passing the time in conversation. This imposing work was painted in the early 20th Century by a talented artist of the French school, a follower of Antoine Watteau, Valenciennes 1684- Nogent sur Marne 1721. I have included a copy of an expertise by Dr.Armin Silbernagl, a professor at the Fine Art Tribunal in Milan.
Dimensions: The painting measures 65x90 cm and the frame measures 80x110cm.
