The desk is finished all round and is free standing. It has serpentine sides. The top corners of the desk have detailed carved lion's heads and the feet of the desk are carved lion's paws. The borders of the desk have a carved rope-like edge. All this carving , in solid mahogany, the work of a master carver.

This desk has been accomplished in the Georgian style and is beautifully crafted from flame mahogany with satinwood crossbanding. The drawers are oak-lined and the exquisite brass handles serve to compliment the elegant look.

The desk is made from mahogany which is valued as it is a hardwood and reddish-brown in colour. It is identintical on both sides, with an equal number of drawers and therefore can be utilised by more than one person - hence it is named "Partner’s Desk".
